APM Introductory Certificate in Project Management


The Association for Project Management (APM) is the only UK-based organisation dedicated to the professional development and promotion of project management. It has over 17,500 individual and 500 corporate members throughout the UK and abroad. APM qualifications are stand alone awards designed to meet the needs of project staff at different stages in their professional development. Based on the APM Body of Knowledge, the Introductory Certificate in Project Management is a vital introduction in project management and is the entry qualification from the APM.




Course Overview

The content of the course follows the examination syllabus extracted from the APM Body of Knowledge through the practical explanation of the project life cycle introducing best practice project management processes and techniques at each phase. A combination of knowledge transfer, real application, breakout discussion and sample exam questions introduce the techniques and soft skills necessary for successful project delivery.


Who should attend / pre-requisites

The APM Introductory Certificate is designed for those individuals who are either relatively new to the project environment or equally those experienced project managers who wish to reinforce their knowledge in the principles of project management. No pre-requisite study is required as the course aims to provide a foundation in the understanding of the language of project management and the structure of a successful project.

At the end of the two-day course, candidates will take the formal APM examination. This consists of a one-hour 60 question multiple-choice examination.
